CHILD RESTRAINT PROGRAM

June 8, 2018

Since 2016 Lebanon Fire Department has participated in the National Child Passenger Safety Program. LFD continues to qualify for grant money to be used to provide car restraints to caregivers that cannot provide safe seating for their child. The program is designed to provide the caregiver with a proper child restraint if the restraint is found to be unsafe, if the caregiver is unable to purchase a child restraint, or if the child doesn’t fit the restraint properly.  Deputy Chief Michael Baird and Lieutenant Lanny Mitchell oversee the program and work with other Lebanon Firefighters that are Certified Technicians to educate the community on the importance of proper child restraints and proper installation of the restraint. Free clinics are offered to the community and held twice a year at one of the local fire stations.
